What if we slowed down?

Everything's getting faster and faster and more efficient -- so why
does it feel like we don't have any more time?

I Realized this as I was helping out at my church in the donut line.
Usually I am just the receiver of the donuts, but I was filling in for
someone else.

And I jumped at the chance to be the change I wanted to see in the world!

I can make this more efficient!

I don't have to stand forever in the donut line anymore!

So instead of having people pick from the big old box I thought what
if we put them individually on napkins and give them to each person?

It was faster!

Then some of the ladies that have done it for a long time gave me a
bunch of reasons why they just do it the way they always do it. We
ended up going back to the way they wanted to do it.

What was my purpose of making things faster?

Why does everything have to be more efficient?

Why was I annoyed that it took maybe a minute to get the donut in the
donut line?

Am I that antisocial that I will do anything to avoid conversation
with the person in front and behind me?

What if the thing we need in life is not to speed things up anymore

But actually to slow things down?
