What does loving your enemies look like?

There are many things in the Bible that are countercultural and transformative.

I think the biggest thing is when Jesus says to love our enemies. And
Britt Eaton has written a book called Reckless Grace where she talks
about how we do that.

"Think about the context when Jesus is talking about loving your
enemies. He's talking about Rome. He's talking about these powers and
these principalities.

Even when we're looking at the truth that the Lord is preparing a
table before us in the presence of our enemies, there's a reason that
he's doing that. And it's probably not what we think.

What we might want to believe as we're clinging to our offenses in a
day-to-day world is that the Lord is preparing that table to put us in
a position of authority or in a position of being better than our
enemies. That's in fact not what's happening at all.

The Lord is preparing a table before us in the presence of our enemies
so that we can invite them to the table and our enemy might become our
brother."
